- External Lighting – this can be on during the hours of darkness or on a passive infra-red motion detector
- Ensuring doors and windows are locked at night time – especially at ground floor level
- Keeping garage and out buildings locked
- Keeping items out of view and locked up – such as bikes, scooters & children’s expensive toys
- Have your alarm system regularly serviced to avoid faults, ensuring you can arm the system at night time
- Keep vehicle keys away from the front door or ensure they are not on show through a window
