Intruder Alarms

Intruder Alarms Installation

SV Security Systems specialise in intruder alarm system installation, maintenance and monitoring. We have been installing systems for 25 years for domestic and commercial clients, which is why we have become one of the most successful security companies across the Midlands and the North West.

The systems we install for domestic and commercial customers vary depending on their security needs. As a NACOSS GOLD installer, all of our equipment is graded, starting from a standard domestic system all the way up to a bespoke commercial integrated system.

Ultimately each client is unique, which is why we offer a free, no obligation quotation on request for all of our intruder alarms. We want to make sure that all our clients are happy with the service that they receive from us when we install their intruder alarms to give them the peace-of-mind that their commercial or residential property is secure.

Our engineers have been working in the industry for many years and are trained on the latest technology on the market.  This is key for our maintenance packages which we offer to existing and new clients, regardless of whether we installed the system or not.

FAQs

At SV Security Systems we believe the main reason to have a security system installed in a domestic property is so we can protect our loved ones. Statistics show a domestic or commercial property with a NSI Nacoss graded alarm system installed is far less likely to be broken into. This of course then has a knock on effect to things like reductions in home/business insurance premiums. Most people have items such as TV’s and laptops which if taken can be replaced by insurance, however the items of sentimental value that we treasure the most cannot be replaced so why take the chance?

Alarm systems now are mostly monitored either via a monitoring station, direct to your mobile or via an app, these features can be great for peace of mind when kids are returning from school, the cleaner sets the alarm or when a smoke alarm or carbon monoxide detector is activated.

The two main types of alarm system are wired and wireless. (see our wireless alarms link) The majority of our domestic installations are with wireless systems, which conform to the same PD6662:2017 standards. We currently install the Pyronix Enforcer wireless system (see www.pyronix.co.uk for more details). Our wired range of systems is also manufactured by Pyronix. The equipment is sign printed with our logos to give it the professional finish.

We offer monitoring services with all of our installations so you no longer have to rely on a neighbour listening out for your alarm sounding. The monitoring devices from Dualcom (see www.csldual.com) use GPRS/4G technology to connect your alarm system to the monitoring station so that you know whatever the situation, if your activates you will always know first.

Not having the system serviced regularly. For standard systems this should be every 12 months. For police calling systems this needs to be every 6 months.

Customer error. Wrong code entered or walking into the wrong area when system is armed causing a false alarm.

Back-up battery in the control panel failing. This normally only comes to light when you have a power cut although a low battery can affect the everyday workings of a system.

Open/Insecure door or window. This is often revealed during bad weather or high winds.

The external siren will sound and then ‘re-arm’ after 15 minutes to comply with environmental laws.

We can fit ‘pet tolerant’ detectors so that you can still maintain a full level of security, while allowing your pet to walk round inside the house as normal.

We insist that it must be! A high percentage of break-ins happen at night time while we are in bed asleep. That thought of burglars being in our homes while we are only a few feet away is a scary thought, yet we find people still don’t set their alarm systems at night time?! When we ask why quite a common answer is I didn’t know we could set it at night (when we take over a system from a different installer) and also I don’t know what I would do if it did go off at night? When we install or takeover a system, we provide a full demonstration and training to ensure our customers know exactly how to set the system day and night. We also offer 24 hour service, even if it to ask the simplest of questions, it’s always nice to have reassurance.

Depending on the time of year there can be a waiting time anywhere between 7-28 days for the installation to take place. The install itself is in most cases completed in one day for domestic wired and wireless systems. Commercial systems vary depending on the size of the property to be covered. Our security systems installation team will work to the drawing and specification created during the survey and quotation phase. A more accurate time scale and installation time will be given during the formal quotation process.

SV Security Systems is a Nacoss Gold member, something which we are extremely proud of and have been for over 19 years. This means we are audited by the NSI every six months to ensure that our working practices are at the highest level both on site and in the office. This also means we hold ISO9001 accreditation. Please check out www.nsi.org.uk to find out more about Nacoss Gold companies.

Being a Nacoss Gold installer we only install graded security equipment.

European standard EN50131 sets the regulations for graded security equipment, each country inside Europe then has its own requirements, the UK standard for Intruder alarms being PD6662:2017 and BS8243 for police calling systems.
